Nissan Skyline R30 GR.5 Kyalami 9hr Endurance Car (1982)
The Skyline Turbo for Kyalami 9H Endurance race was originally developed for the WEC JAPAN 6-hour endurance race held at Fuji Speed way in October, 1982. Unfortunately, it wa not completed in time but entered the 9-hour endurance Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit held in South Africa in November. Although Its looks similar to Skyline Super Silhouette, It is a completely different racing car equipped with the semimonocoque frame, and it took over the basics of the Skyline. In Groupe C, where rival cars such as Porsche 956 and Lancia LC1 adopted Mid-ship in general, it was the only to adopt FR layout. The race resulted in a retirement due to the car going off-coarse. It entered many other races, but oftentimes retired due to heat-related issues. However, for many fans it is a memorable racing Skyline.
