The Nissan Skyline is a Japanese passenger car that has been classified as a compact car, mid-size car, and compact executive car throughout its history . The car debuted on the market in 1957, and its production is still ongoing. In the generation that was introduced to the market in 2014, the car is 479 cm long, 182 cm wide, with a wheelbase of 285 centimeters.
The presented vehicle was initially manufactured by the Prince Motor Company automotive plant, but at the time of their merger with Nissan in 1967, the car began to be manufactured under the name Nissan Skyline. It is also worth adding that the person who had the greatest influence on the development of this car was the engineer previously working at the Prince Motor Company plant, Shinichiro Samurai. It is assumed that he directly or indirectly influenced the technical solutions in the Skyline model until his death in 2011! Chronologically, the first generation of the car was manufactured in the years 1957-1964 and can be classified as a rather luxurious car powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 or 1.9 litres. Over time – and with the introduction of subsequent generations – the Skyline gained an increasingly sporty character, which can already be seen in models from the years 1968-1972, and especially in the example of the 2-door coupe. The breakthrough for the Skyline model is considered to be the versions introduced to the market in 1977 (C211 and CG211), which had a completely new 6-cylinder engine. Since 2014, the latest version of the Skyline model has been available on the market, which uses combustion engines with a capacity of 2.0 and 3.0 litres as drive units, as well as a hybrid engine with a capacity of 3.5 litres. Undoubtedly, due to its long history, as well as technical values, the Skyline model has gained the title of “cult car”.
