Airfix Saturn V Gift Set (1:144 scale) A50201
The Saturn V rocket remains one of the most iconic and ambitious technological achievements in human history. Developed by NASA to support the Apollo programme, this towering super heavy-lift launch vehicle was designed to carry astronauts beyond Earth’s orbit and onto the Moon—marking a defining moment in space exploration. When it made its first test flight in November 1967, it was the most powerful machine ever launched by mankind.
Standing over 110 metres tall, the Saturn V delivered over 7.5 million pounds of thrust at launch. Its three-stage configuration was a marvel of engineering, enabling a precise sequence of events that propelled astronauts into lunar orbit. Everything about the rocket was monumental—from the thunderous ignition to the elegant rise through Earth’s atmosphere. It played a central role in the success of the Apollo missions, culminating in the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969.
