1. General Information
Kent Models is an online retailer specialising in plastic model kits, paints, modelling tools, accessories and related hobby products.
We supply products to customers throughout the United Kingdom and, where international delivery is available, overseas.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to the Terms & Conditions applicable to that order.
We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in legislation, our services or business operations.
Any changes will apply to orders placed after the updated terms take effect and will not retrospectively alter an existing contract without agreement.
2. Products and Availability
We aim to provide accurate product descriptions, photographs, specifications and availability information.
Our product range includes plastic model kits from manufacturers such as Tamiya, Aoshima, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Revell, Italeri and many others.
We also stock modelling paints, glues, tools, airbrushes and accessories.
Product images are intended to represent the items offered for sale. Packaging, colours and minor product details may occasionally differ from manufacturers’ promotional images.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information is accurate and will correct any errors brought to our attention.
Products are subject to availability.
If we cannot supply an item you have ordered, we will contact you and explain the available options, which may include a refund or an alternative product if you agree.
We will not substitute a different product without your agreement.
3. Placing an Order
Orders can be placed through our website using the available checkout facilities.
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products selected.
You will normally receive an automated acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order.
This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
Unless we expressly confirm acceptance earlier, a contract of sale is formed when we dispatch your order.
If we cannot accept your order, we will notify you and refund any payment already collected.
Reasons for declining an order may include:
- Products being unavailable.
- An obvious pricing or product information error.
- Payment authorisation difficulties.
- Delivery restrictions.
- Circumstances preventing us from fulfilling the order.
We reserve the right to refuse an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, subject to applicable law.
4. Prices and Payment
All product prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.
Prices include UK VAT where applicable.
Delivery charges and any other applicable charges will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
We aim to ensure that all prices are accurate.
However, if an obvious pricing error is discovered before we accept your order, we will contact you to explain the error and offer the opportunity to proceed at the correct price or cancel.
We will not charge a higher price without your agreement.
Payment can be made using the payment methods offered at checkout.
Payment processing is handled through the payment services available on our website.
Orders will only be dispatched once the required payment arrangements have been completed.
5. UK Delivery and Dispatch
Kent Models aims to dispatch physically in-stock products promptly from our UK premises.
Delivery services, charges and estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout.
We offer a selection of postal and courier services depending on the size, weight, contents and destination of an order.
Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If a delivery is delayed, we will assist customers in accordance with their statutory rights.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, consumer orders must normally be delivered within 30 days.
Goods generally remain our responsibility until they are delivered into the physical possession of the customer or someone nominated by the customer, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
Full information about available delivery services, dispatch arrangements and collection options can be found on our Delivery Information page.
6. International Orders
International shipping is available only to destinations and for products supported by our checkout and delivery services.
Shipping charges and available options depend on the destination, product type and order value.
International customers may be responsible for import duties, local taxes, customs clearance charges and other fees imposed by their destination country, unless expressly stated otherwise.
These charges are not necessarily included in the purchase price or delivery charge.
Certain products, particularly aerosols, paints, solvents and specialist chemicals, may be subject to international shipping restrictions.
Where restrictions prevent us from fulfilling an order, we will contact the customer and explain the available options.
7. Pre-Orders
Some products on the Kent Models website may be available to pre-order before they arrive in stock.
Where applicable, a product’s listing will identify its pre-order status.
Any expected availability or release date is an estimate based on information available at the time.
Manufacturers and distributors may occasionally change release dates or supply arrangements.
If a pre-ordered product is delayed, we will endeavour to keep affected customers informed.
Customers retain their applicable statutory rights concerning cancellation, delivery and refunds.
Where an order contains both in-stock products and pre-order items, the dispatch arrangements will depend on the delivery terms communicated for that order.
Please contact Kent Models if you have questions about a pre-order.
8. Order Cancellations
Customers purchasing goods online generally have the right to cancel their order without giving a reason.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the normal cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which the customer receives their goods.
For orders containing multiple items delivered separately, the relevant period generally runs from receipt of the final item.
Customers who exercise their statutory cancellation rights normally have a further 14 days after notifying us to return the goods.
Certain statutory exceptions may apply to specific types of products.
Customers can notify us of their intention to cancel by contacting Kent Models.
Our Returns & Refunds Policy provides further details, including the cancellation procedure and model cancellation form.
Nothing in this section limits any additional cancellation rights provided by law.
9. Returns and Refunds
We want customers to be satisfied with their purchases.
If you wish to return an unwanted item, have received an incorrect product or believe an item is faulty, please contact us.
For qualifying change-of-mind cancellations, customers may be responsible for return postage where this has been explained before purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
Where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will meet our obligations concerning remedies and reasonable return costs under applicable consumer legislation.
Refunds for statutory cancellations will include the applicable original standard delivery charge.
Where a customer selected a more expensive delivery service, we are not normally required to refund the additional cost above our standard delivery option.
Refunds will be processed within the timescales required by law.
Customers may reasonably inspect products to establish their nature, characteristics and condition. Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary, an appropriate deduction may be made where permitted by law.
Further information is available in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
10. Faulty or Damaged Products
We take care when packing and dispatching orders.
However, if you receive a faulty, damaged, incomplete or incorrectly supplied product, please contact us.
Where possible, providing your order number and photographs of the issue will help us investigate.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Depending on the circumstances, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
Customers generally have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days, with further remedies available after that period.
These statutory rights cannot be excluded by our Terms & Conditions.
11. Model Paints, Aerosols and Specialist Products
Some products sold by Kent Models, including aerosol sprays, solvents and specialist modelling chemicals, are subject to additional transportation and handling requirements.
Customers should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety information when using these products.
Certain items may be restricted from particular delivery services or destinations.
If you need to return a product subject to transport restrictions, please contact us so that we can explain suitable arrangements.
These requirements do not remove any statutory rights relating to faulty goods or eligible cancellations.
12. Gift Vouchers
Kent Models may offer gift vouchers for purchase through our website.
Gift vouchers can be redeemed in accordance with the conditions displayed on the relevant voucher product page.
Any applicable expiry dates, redemption restrictions or other material conditions will be communicated before purchase.
Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law or expressly permitted by their published terms.
Nothing in this section affects the purchaser’s statutory rights.
13. Website Information and Intellectual Property
The content of the Kent Models website, including original text, graphics, photographs and branding, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Some product photographs, logos and descriptions belong to their respective manufacturers or rights holders and are used for product identification or promotional purposes.
Website content must not be reproduced or commercially exploited without the permission of the relevant rights holder, except where permitted by law.
We aim to keep our website accurate and available, but temporary interruptions or technical problems may occasionally occur.
14. Customer Accounts and Website Security
Customers who create an account are responsible for keeping their login details confidential.
Please contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
We may suspend access to accounts where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, misuse or security concerns.
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.
15. Personal Information and Privacy
We take customer privacy seriously.
Personal information collected through our website is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Our Privacy Policy explains how customer information is collected, used, stored and protected.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
We are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control to the extent permitted by law. This does not remove rights or remedies available to consumers.
